Runway is a cloud platform from Runway AI, Inc. for making and editing video, images and audio with AI. It has its own models (Gen-4.5, Gen-4, Gen-4 Turbo, Gen-4 Image, Aleph 2.0 for video editing) and models from other companies, such as Seedance, Kling, Nano Banana, Wan and FLUX.
You can work in four ways: Agent (a chat that plans and makes multi-shot videos and ad campaigns), Tools (direct control of prompts and settings), Apps (ready tools such as Remove from Video or Upscale Video) and Workflows (a node editor that chains models). It runs in the browser and in iOS and Android apps. Plugins add it to Premiere Pro, After Effects and DaVinci Resolve. An API and an MCP server connect it to code and AI agents.
Plans (pricing page, October 2026): Free (125 one-time credits), Standard $15/month or $12/month billed yearly, Pro $35 or $28, Max $95 or $76. Team is $69 per seat per month or $55 billed yearly. Enterprise is custom.
