OBS Studio is a desktop app for capturing, mixing, recording and streaming video. You build scenes from sources such as window captures, images, text, browser windows, webcams and capture cards, and switch between them with transitions. It has an audio mixer with per-source filters (noise gate, noise suppression, gain) and supports VST plugins.
Studio Mode lets you preview a scene before it goes live. Multiview shows 8 scenes at once. You can set hotkeys for most actions and rearrange the interface with movable docks. Plugins and scripts in Lua or Python add more functions.
It runs locally on Windows 10 and 11, macOS 13 or newer, and Linux. It is free and open source under the GNU General Public License v2 (or any later version). There are no paid plans; the project is funded by sponsors and backers through Open Collective and Patreon.
