DaVinci Resolve is one app for video editing, color correction, visual effects, motion graphics, audio post production and photo editing. The work is split into pages: Media, Photo, Cut, Edit, Fusion, Color, Fairlight and Deliver. Fusion uses nodes for compositing and motion graphics. Fairlight is a digital audio workstation; the maker says it works with up to 2,000 tracks.
It runs locally on Mac, Windows and Linux. Several people can work on the same project at the same time, and Blackmagic Cloud hosts projects and media online. Version 21 added the Photo page, which opens RAW files from Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon and Sony cameras.
DaVinci Resolve is free and edits and finishes up to 60 fps at Ultra HD 3840 x 2160. DaVinci Resolve Studio costs US$295 and adds the DaVinci AI Neural Engine, up to 120 fps at 32K, multiple GPUs, Dolby Vision and HDR10+, stereoscopic 3D and more Resolve FX. Blackmagic Design also sells editor keyboards, color panels and Fairlight audio consoles for it.
