Autonomous AI software engineer that works in the cloud and opens pull requests
Devin is an autonomous AI software engineer made by Cognition. It writes, runs and tests code, then opens a pull request. Each session runs in its own cloud virtual machine with a shell, a code editor and a browser. Devin can start Windows, Mac and Linux machines to build and test, and it records itself clicking through what it built.
You give it work in the web app, by tagging @Devin in Slack or Teams, from Linear or Jira tickets, or through the Devin API. Ask mode answers questions about your code and helps plan a task; Agent mode does the work. Automations start Devin on a schedule or when a bug, failed CI check or alert arrives. Devin Outposts can run sessions on your own machines.
Cloud agents need a paid plan: Pro $20/month, Max $200/month, Teams $80/month plus $40/month per full seat (up to 200 users), Enterprise on request. The Free plan ($0) does not include Devin Cloud. Extra usage is billed at API pricing.
Software engineering teams of any size, from individual developers on the Pro plan to large companies on Enterprise, who want to hand off tickets, bug fixes, migrations and other engineering work to an AI agent.
