Lemon Squeezy

Lemon Squeezy is a merchant of record for software companies and digital creators. It handles payments, subscriptions, sales tax and VAT, fraud checks and billing support for each sale. You can sell with checkout links, an embedded checkout overlay or your own hosted store. It also issues license keys, signs download links, and runs affiliates, discount codes and email marketing.

It is a cloud service, managed in the browser, with a REST API, webhooks and the Lemon.js checkout script. The maker says it accepts payments from 135+ countries with 20+ payment methods, including PayPal.

Pricing: no monthly fee; 5% + 50¢ (USD) per transaction, plus extra fees for international, PayPal and subscription payments. Email marketing is free up to 500 subscribers, then priced by subscriber count. Custom pricing is offered for large volume.

Stripe acquired Lemon Squeezy in 2024. In January 2026 the team said it is building Stripe Managed Payments and plans a way for users to move there.
