Software for making, recording, mixing and performing music
Ableton Live is software for music creation and live performance. It has two views: Session View, where you play and combine loops without a timeline, and Arrangement View, where you build a song on a timeline. It records audio and MIDI, changes the tempo of any audio in real time (warping), and comes with instruments, effects and sounds. The current version is Live 12 (12.4).
Live runs locally on Mac and Windows. Max for Live lets you change devices or build your own, and Link keeps Live in time with other apps and devices on the same network.
Live is a one-time purchase in three editions (prices in EUR on the shop page): Intro EUR 79 (16 tracks, 5+ GB of sounds), Standard EUR 279 (unlimited tracks, 38+ GB of sounds) and Suite EUR 599 (71+ GB of sounds, Max for Live, all instruments and effects). Suite can also be paid as rent-to-own: EUR 24.96 per month for 24 months, then you own it. A free 30-day trial of Suite is available. Students and teachers get 50% off.
Musicians, producers and performers who want to make, record and perform any kind of music, on stage, alone or in a band. Ableton also offers it for classrooms, colleges and universities.
