Stripe's official MCP server that lets AI agents use the Stripe API and docs
Stripe MCP is Stripe's Model Context Protocol server, in public preview. It gives AI agents tools to read and write data through the Stripe API, search the Stripe documentation and support articles, plan a Stripe integration, query analytics and, in preview, move money with Treasury.
Stripe hosts a remote server at mcp.stripe.com. Clients such as Cursor, Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, ChatGPT and VS Code connect with OAuth or with an agent API key. Stripe asks a human to confirm some write actions, such as refunds and outbound payments. The server can also run locally with npx @stripe/mcp and a Stripe secret key, or as a Docker image.
The local package is open source under the MIT licence, in the stripe/ai GitHub repository (formerly stripe/agent-toolkit). Admins can turn MCP access on or off for their team, separately for live mode and sandboxes. From December 2026 the server accepts only agent API keys or OAuth, not full-access secret keys.
Developers and businesses on Stripe who want their AI agents and coding assistants to work with the Stripe API, their Stripe account data and the Stripe documentation.
Works on the Stripe API directly, searches the Stripe docs and asks a human to confirm refunds and outbound payments; tool calls do not use Zapier tasks. The local package is open source (MIT).
Covers payments, customers, refunds and products in a Stripe account, plus Stripe documentation search; Supabase's server covers databases and Edge Functions.
