Free and open-source non-linear video editor from KDE
Kdenlive (KDE Non-Linear Video Editor) is a desktop video editor. It runs locally on Linux, Windows, macOS and BSD. It reads almost any audio or video format, offers proxies for smooth playback on low-end systems, multicam and 3-point editing, nested sequences, markers and automatic backups.
It has hundreds of audio and video effects with keyframes, transitions and compositions, audio mixers and voiceover recording, LUTs and color grading with histogram, vectorscope, RGB parade and waveform, and subtitles with automatic transcription. It connects to Glaxnimate for motion graphics.
Kdenlive is free software under the GNU General Public License: no licence fees, registrations, subscriptions or paid premium features. It is built in C++ with Qt and KDE libraries on the MLT framework, which uses FFmpeg. It is part of the KDE Community; the legal entity is KDE e.V., a German non-profit. A small, mostly volunteer team develops it. The project started in 2003.
