Open-source AI coding agent for the terminal, desktop and code editors
OpenCode is an open-source AI agent that writes and edits code in your project. It runs in the terminal, as a desktop app for macOS, Windows and Linux, and as an extension for VS Code, Cursor, Zed, Windsurf and VSCodium. It has two built-in agents: build, with full access, and plan, which is read-only.
It works with 75+ model providers through Models.dev, including Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Amazon Bedrock, OpenRouter, Groq and DeepSeek, and with local models through Ollama, LM Studio and llama.cpp. You can also log in with a GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT Plus/Pro account. Some free models are included.
The code is under the MIT licence and the app is free. The maker also sells model access: OpenCode Zen is pay as you go (a $20 balance, charged per request), and OpenCode Go costs $10 per month, or $40 per month for Go Plus with higher limits. Enterprise pricing is on request.
The maker says OpenCode does not store your code or context data.
